Our Community

St Joseph’s School is a co-educational school situated in Renmark, located 252km east of Adelaide in the Riverland region on the beautiful Murray River.

The population of Renmark Paringa Council district is approximately 9,930 people, with a fluctuation during harvest season. Renmark was established in 1887 as an irrigation settlement growing stones fruits, which has grown to include citrus fruits, wine grapes, vegetables, wheat and wool.

The community of St Joseph’s School is represented by many culturally diverse backgrounds.  The catchment area includes Berri, Lyrup, Murtho and Cooltong,  which is mostly accessible by the DECS buses that currently run.

Most children attend DECS high schools after year seven, due to the absence of a Catholic high school in the Riverland region, with a small number seeking boarding in Adelaide in senior school years.
