Transitions

Reception Students

Prior to students beginning school, the school will hold a number of orientation (transition) days in the preceding term.

The first of these days includes a tour of the school and a general meeting of parents with the Principal.

On the first transition visit Reception students will participate in the class they will be joining up until recess time and then they will be picked up by parents.  On the second transition visit Reception students will participate in the class they will be joining up until lunch time and then they will be picked up by parents.  On the third and any further days, Reception students will stay with their class for the whole day.

Year Six Transitions into High School

As the year sixes prepare to graduate and move on to high school, students may attend orientation visits to their secondary school.

Most students from St. Joseph’s School successfully move on to attend St Francis of Assisi College, with a small number seeking boarding school in Adelaide in their senior school years.
